We’ve had a few queries from people interested in getting hold of DVDs of Matthew and Marc's Rocky Road.
Tonight Marc Ellis and Matthew Ridge are heading to South America. I’ve already seen the series on TV 6 (it screened last year on Freeview) so I can tell you that you’ll be seeing one of the boys led through the streets in only his undies with a collar and chain around his neck, take dancing lessons and get up to the usual hi-jinks.
The episodes are not available on DVD and TVNZ have no plans to include them on TVNZ ondemand. If you’re interested in copies of the show, TVNZ suggest you contact Eyeworks Touchdown, who produced the series.

Matthew Ridge aka Meth-You
Don Murray, self-proclaimed Champion Astrologer and race tipster has been busy spreading rumours. In mid-2007 he penned the nickname ‘Meth-You’ for Matthew Ridge. Talking about Keita Nobilo's drug charges, he says
Latest is an heiress to millions who was sprung with some P and utensils.
Strange how she's eventually gonna inherit millions from the alcohol industry but makes P her drug of choice.
The downhill slide began when her boyfriend, known as "Meth You" in some circles, ditched her for another.
Ms Heiress retaliated with a vengeance and absolutely trashed Meth You's waterfront apartment....
Don isn’t the first to suggest that Matthew loves everyone’s favourite letter of the alphabet, P. A commenter on Throng says,
Mathew is the biggest P smoker in New Zealand, everyone in the inner circles knows it, I'm surprised the press hasn't caught on yet. It is pretty obvious by his actions as well. And the photos of him on the Treasure Island web site. This isn't the first time we've heard these claims. This leads us to wonder… what is going on in Matthew aka Meth-You’s palatial Herne Bay home. In 2006, housemate Brent Todd pleaded guilty to procuring cocaine when the ‘celebrity drug ring’ bust came down. And sweet young Carly Binding works in an industry notorious for drug use. Is the bond between them love, or love of a shared past-time?
And who is the couple? Don Murray is suggesting that Matthew and his housemate Brent Todd (or Bent according to Don Murray) are an item.
It wouldn't be surprising if someone one day produces an OUTRAGEOUS FORTUNE-type series on the lives of Matthew Ridge and his housemate/employee Brent Todd.
Maybe a romantic saga of how the two met while playing with each other on the rugby league field and some 15 years later ended up playing with each other far away from the park?
Hmmmm. Seems unlikely, although we have noticed that Meth-You is a big fan of man love. Murray also suggests that
Ridgie's had enough reversals with women to make a long-running soap opera named " Copulation Street " and he must wonder at times if he'd do better off with a husband.
He then goes on to say that Matthew and Brent are astrologically compatibleRidgie and Toddy ? Virgo Monkey and Sagittarius Dragon ? Yessssssssss !!!!!!!!
Considering that one of Ridgie's longer liaisons, Nicky Watson (1976) is a Sagittarian Dragon like Toddy....
Maybe Ridgie and Toddy will become an item, then get divorced in August-September ?
Huh. Sounds pretty crazy but we'll watch with interest. Don Murray is the man that predicted the All Blacks wouldn't win the 2007 Rugby World Cup so he has a small iota of credibility. Mind you, Miss Prozac predicted that sans crystal ball or astrology chart.
Don also predicts that in 2008 Matthew Ridge will experience
Three difficult attacks from Uranus create massive chaos in the love life and business.
Don Murray’s website isn’t easy to read, with bright type on a black background, and not much in the way of navigation, but if you scroll down the "news" page you will find some interesting snippets of gossip. Whether they are true is up for debate. Murray boasts that he has previously been sued for defamation, but claims the information was correct. He has posted some gossip in advance of the papers, but whether it is all true or only 50-80% accurate, we’ll leave up to you.

Carly Binding Is Matthew her Ideal Man?
After noticing that the lads are back on TV2 in Matthew and Marc’s Testosterone Rocky Road - this time to Russia, home of Vodka and women who can arm wrestle Matt and Marc into submission - it reminded Miss Prozac that Carly Binding told interviewers (back in the days when she was single) that she was looking for a man who’s not too pretty. And hey presto, her prince with the moody looks arrived.
Carly and Matthew are no strangers to reality television. We were half expecting to see one of them on Dancing with the Stars. Carly came to fame on Peter Urlich's creation Popstars which launched TrueBliss. She's also been on The Great New Zealand Spelling Bee, and April's Angels as well as being a judge on TV2 Song Star.
Carly and Matthew Ridge are now shacked up together (Carly moved in just the day before her 30th birthday bash) so Miss Prozac thought she’d see how he matches Carly’s checklist for her ideal man. Carly is said to be thinking that this might be ‘the real thing’, but she has admitted in past interviews that she’s a dreamer saying, “I lust after the idea of ‘love’”
Loving
Is Matthew a loving chappie? Probably, yes. As any regular watcher of Testosterone Road will know, Matt is a big fan of “man love” constantly telling mate Marc that he needs a hug. He’s also known for falling heavily in love amid pronouncements that he’s found his life-long mate.
Simone Crowe - who went public to deny claims that she was mixed up in a love triangle with Matthew and Nicky Watson - says Matthew is a very loving man who speaks freely about his emotions. Awww that’s sweet. He's also said to be a caring father. We give Matt 9 points out of 10.
Unfortunately, he also talks freely about bodily fluids and passing wind. Ewwww. Minus three demerit points.
Loyal
Carly hankers for a loyal man. Matthew has certainly shown loyalty to his mates, supporting convicted fraudster Brent Todd. Points 10/10.
However, Miss Prozac does seem to recall that wee problem with Matt getting hooked up with ex wife Sally’s best friend Nicky Watson. Minus a million demerit points.
Not too pretty
Huge tick here. Enough said. Points 10/10.

Matthew And Marc's Rocky Road To Russia
The boys are back! Matthew Ridge and Marc Ellis continue their world tour, this time to Russia, the land of cosmonauts, comrades and vodka.
How does Marc Ellis find the time? Last year he was part of the team that launched Mintshot, as well as filming 10 episodes for new TVNZ show How the Other Half Lives, where he steps into the shoes of people from other walks of life, TV show Game of 2 Halves, directorship of Charlie's juice and more. Perhaps Charlie's be bottling Marc Ellis' essence and marketing it as an energy drink?
In Matthew And Marc's Rocky Road To Russia, the duo compete against each other in everything Russian, with the loser subjected to painful, humiliating and hilarious consequences!
From the high culture of the Bolshoi ballet to the might of the Soviet military, Marc and Matthew wreak a path of madness and mayhem through Moscow and beyond. No challenge is too great for our Kiwi comrades; as they battle tigers at the circus, go toe to toe with a prima ballerina and prepare to be blasted into space. Plus, no journey to the former Soviet Union would be complete without a high-octane ride in a MIG fighter jet, even if Matthew does get a teensy bit airsick and wants to go home!
It's an hilarious ride with all the outrageous stunts and antics that you would expect from Matthew And Marc. Whether it's taking a whipping in a bath house, or whipping up the perfect pancake, our sporting greats are as determined as ever to win. As the boys say, with the victor comes the spoils, and the chance to force the other to perform a dare as a penalty.
It was a rockier road than usual for the Producer of Matthew and Marc's latest series, Jonathan Glazier. He simply says; "Rocky Road to Russia was a trip to hell! It was a nightmare to film. Everything that could go wrong, did. But that's what makes this series so funny. The boys were often flying by the seat of their pants, and you never knew quite what was going to happen next."
"The highlight for me is the bath house story. It's just so hilarious. Two grown men, naked, being whipped with birch sticks, and the thing is they take it so seriously. Everything's a competition, and no matter how ridiculous they look, they simply have to win."Glazier continues; "I've worked with the boys for 3 years now, on Rocky Road and Game of 2 Halves. They keep surprising me, and in the world of TV - like warfare - the surprise element wins every-time! Their relationship is the same on screen and off, and that's a real winner for the audience. People don't want performances they want people, real people. The Matthew and Mark on screen are the same as they are off screen."
Matthew And Marc's Rocky Road To Russia begins on TV2 at 7.00pm, Saturday 16 February.

Matthew Ridge & Carly Binding's Friendship
Matthew Ridge & former TrueBliss pop star Carly Binding have been hanging out together for several weeks now, and this week's Woman's Day has photos of the two strolling at the beach with Matthew's son Boston.
According to the gossip mag, the pair are just friends but our spies have seen the pair in Ponsonby (near Matthew's palatial home) holding hands and looking cosy. Sounds like these two are friends with benefits...
Update: They are now living together!

Keita and Millie’s P Bond
In true Hollywood fashion Keita Nobilo says she bonded with Millie Holmes during their rehab at the Capri Trust. Keita, who is described by New Zealand Herald as “a member of the Nobilo wines family dynasty” felt like giving up on life while on crystal meth (P).
Keita tells how unstable she was when she dated reality TV regular Matthew Ridge.
I have to give him credit for putting up with the insanity of my drug use … I was really erratic, very aggressive, very violent. She recounts that during a fight she "revved the Beamer and just ran up the back of his Merc as hard as I could." She also booted out his front windscreen at the beginning of a psychotic episode which she blames on low B12 levels, despite this he turned up at the hospital to collect her and take her home.
Keita says that she’s determined to stay drug-free. Millie and Keita believe they can help others by publicising their story.
They're helping each other stay drug free by talking most days and finding their highs without drugs. They might also be comparing notes on the night they each spent in prison. Both are yet to be sentenced and could face further jail time...

P Heiress Named (again)
On Friday we, together with the rest of the media, named Keita Nobilo as the heiress charged with possession of today's "it" drug. On Sunday we received an email from a concerned citizen advising us that we were "breaching a court name suppression order."
Now the news is back out again. Name suppression expired at midday, and Keita's lawyer wisely elected not to pursue name suppression stating that the news was already in the public domain.
After relentless speculation, the P Heiress charged with drug possession for supply has been named as Keita Nobilo. She apparently had cannabis and P in her possession together with several pipes, and is being charged with possession of P for supply.
P is a Class A drug. The maximum penalty for possession is six months and/or a fine of $1,000. Nobilo is charged with possession for supply. The maximum penalty for this offence is a life sentence. According to The Press
Nobilo, 26, was arrested after a raid on her co-accused Joshua McPherson's Muriwai home in late June.Keita Nobilo's claim to fame comes from dating Matthew Ridge (who hasn't?) for two years before being dumped for Miss D Cup Rebecca Loos. Nobilo was furious about being dumped and spilled her guts to anyone who would listen. The Daily Telgraph reports that
Both were charged with possessing methamphetamine - known on the street as "P" - for supply.
Ms Nobilo, who dated Ridge for two years, suffered an auto-immune collapse after being bitten by a spider in Japan in 2004.
Her doctors describe her as functionally disabled, and she receives a sickness benefit. Ms Nobilo is being treated for a cancer-like condition, carcinoid syndrome, and is awaiting the results of a test for a brain tumour.
Nobilo is apparently still suffering health problems and presumably used P for medicinal purposes to block out her memory of being lip-locked with the hairy Matthew Ridge.
Wonder if she'll be packed off to rehab to hold hands with Millie Elder nee Holmes nee Elder?

Treasure Island The Final!
Two pairs must fight it out to make it to the final leg of Treasure Island the chance to win $50,000 on the final of Treasure Island Pirates of the Pacific.
The show opens with Hayley Holt
doing yoga while Wendell Sailor wandered around in skimpy red speedos that showed more than even Miss Prozac wanted to see.
In a turn-about Hayley Holt now has respect for banned rugby player Wendell and the two are in high spirits at the outset of the competition. On the other side of the island April Ieremia and Doug Thompson are feeling fatigued and unsure who they will be going up against. When they find out they are up against Hayley and Wendell, Doug and April are increasingly nervous about their chances in the final.
The two pairs must go up against each other in a competition that promises to find out who is fit, fast and fearless. Each pair must memorise a document containing the legend of the island in 15 minutes, as it contains vital clues that will help them win the game.
The teams must search for the remains of the pirates on the island after performing skill tests. Each time they claim a pirate the teams must leave behind a black spot to show they were first and bring back the remains to the Jolly Roger flags. If you fail a skill test you incur a one hour time penalty. The team with the most pirate remains will win and go to the final.
Test: Balance
The teams must cross rope rigging without touching the ground and then find the pirate remains. Hayley Holt and Wendell Sailor try this test first. If they fail then they have to sit out for an hour, giving April and Doug a chance. They are on their way across the challenge when Wendell falls off so they decide to take their chances at another challenge.
Test: Accuracy
April and Doug have 12 chances to get a flaming coconut bomb into each of the three barrels. After completing the skill test they must look for the skeleton within 30 metres of the end of the challenge. Host Matthew Ridge tells them they must stay together. They find a skeleton and return first with a skeleton so they’re feeling optimistic.
April and Doug head off for the next challenge and get told off again for separating which results in an hour’s penalty for separating. Meanwhile Wendell and Hayley get to start their next skill test.
Test: Water Skills
Hayley Holt feels confident that they will do well in the water, however they must remember the number combination contained in the legend they read at the beginning. They swim out and then have to dive down to a cage and find the lock and undo the combination to find the skeleton. It’s now 1 skeleton each.
Test: Memory
April and Doug have to prove they can remember the legend of the island as well as things about places they have been on the island. They have to answer five out of six questions correctly.
- What significant site sits between the 2 highest points of the island?
- How many ships did the pirates pillage before they were shipwrecked on the island?
- How many pirates survived the shipwreck?
- By what four means did most of the pirates die?
- What time of day did the final two pirates fight their duel?
They got the first five correct and move on to finding the skeleton. They now have two skeletons compared with Hayley and Wendell’s one skeleton
Test: Endurance
Wendell and Hayley have 40 minutes to run and swim without stopping around the rock. They complete the challenge and Hayley Holt earns Wendell’s respect for not complaining when she slipped. Pretty good for a girl he reckoned.
They now have two skeletonseach.
Test: Fire-lighting
Doug and April have 50 minutes to light a fire and boil some water. Doug is pleased with this challenge as he has been starting fires for three weeks. They quickly get a fire started and put a pot of water on it to boil. Next they search for the hidden pirate remains.
Three skeletons to April and Doug.
Test: Calculation
Hayley and Wendell must solve a simple problem. They are given a series of numbers 7-9-16-25-41 and must work out the next in the sequence. The result: 25+41 = 66. They solve it and find the skeleton. Ironically Hayley Holt, last week saying Wendell wasn’t very bright, is now saying he’s pretty smart. Bit of a love-fest going on in this happy team.
Test: Fearlessness

April and Doug have to face a giant pot of crabs and hold their heads in there for a minute without letting any of the crabs escape. Doug pulled his T-shirt over his head and wrapped it over the bucket to keep the crabs contained. One more challenge completed. But Hayley and Wendell turn up while they were hunting and have to decide whether to commit to the challenge or try to find another one. Meanwhile Doug spots the skeleton and decides to wait until Hayley and Wendell start the challenge before claiming the skeleton. Hayley does the challenge because Wendell reckons he’s not a good swimmer and can’t hold his breath for a minute. Hayley fails the challenge and jumps up a tree and cries in frustration. They now have a 1 hour penalty and feels she has blown the game for both of them.
Doug and April have four skeletons while Hayley and Wendell have only three and are sitting out with a one hour time penalty. Wendell tells her she’s a straight shooter and not to change who he is.
Final Test: Balance
April and Doug are at the Balance challenge and have decided to wait it out. There is one hour and two minutes to do the challenge and get back to the Jolly Roger before sunset. They figure if they try and fail then they will have to sit it out and won’t make it back. They figure they’re in the lead right now so they will play it safe.
Wendell is feeling positive and tells Hayley not to give up as they still have time. They get back to the Balance challenge with 20 minutes to go. They get back up on the ropes and take one last shot at the challenge but find it harder this time as they are exhausted from the other challenges. They need to win if they are to have a chance in the finals. Wendell reckons Hayley is so tough that she’s like a guy (in a good way of course). In the final section they must hold hands while they cross 2 parallel ropes, which is the section they failed last time. They work together to win the challenge and have five minutes to find the skeleton and get back to the Jolly Roger with their skeleton but it’s hidden beneath the sand. Wendell sees a hand and they dig out the skeleton and have two minutes to get back.
Final elimination
What a cliffhanger – each team has four skeletons so the game is a draw and a race off will be completed tomorrow morning to decide which pair complete for $50,000.
The pairs must first work out who is missing from the ship by remembering the legend. The captain and nine crew survived.
Clue “Eyes have no mercy”
Wendell and Hayley work out that it must be where the red flag no mercy challenge is held and go there to hunt for the next clue or skeleton. Doug and April arrive next and think it must be to do with the eyes being cut out from the red Jolly Roger flag. April finds the hat first and calls Doug over. The words are in the form of a scrambled clue which must be solved.

They go to the graveyard and April takes over and tells Doug to dig every grave. They are frantic and dig up every graveyard. Meanwhile Hayley and Wendell are stumped until Hayley figures it is between the farthest two X’s on yesterday’s map. They go into the water and start looking around. Doug and April figure they must be in the wrong spot and go back to check the clue. They race off to the spot where they hope to find the skeleton but at that moment Hayley finds the cage with the skeleton underwater and they dig it out and return to camp first.
The Final Race
Wendell and Hayley are through to the final and must now compete against each other.
Matthew Ridge says “Their secret is safe unless you can break the code that binds these men”
The clues are all written backwards and it seems like Hayley Holt the puzzle solver might have an advantage. Wendell Sailor decides his best bet is to tail Hayley and go where she goes. She decides to dig up Rebecca Loos’ grave. She gets annoyed that Wendell is following her and tries to block him from digging in the grave and tries to hold her position. Matthew Ridge steps in to say that there can not be any contact and that they have to share the grave. Hayley keeps challenging him and asking how he solved the clue. He laughs it off and refuses to tell her.
According to host Matthew whoever touches the treasure first with their spade wins the money. Wendell digs a skeleton out of the grave and then Hayley suggests they lift the coffin because she remembers that the clue suggested they bury people on top of each other. Then they argue over who won the money, but Matthew says Hayley Holt won because she hit the treasure chest first. Wendell helps her get the last of the money out. Awww that’s sweet.

Treasure Island Final
Tonight is the final of Treasure Island. Naturally, Miss Prozac is fortifying herself with a few nips of brandy before suffering err the pleasure of an evening of television "entertainment".
The formula? Take one washed up rugby star or three, a builder most of us have never heard of (as Cocksy and Handy Andy have already been on earlier versions of the show) and several gals with big boobs and svelte figures who like wearing bikinis, plus April Ieremia, and throw together with a sexist sadistic host and promises of a large financial incentive and stir. Voila! Scintillating entertainment. And when all else fails bring back Rebecca D Cup Loos for another go at the competition.
Luckily TVNZ have recognised that most people would rather poke out their eyes with hot pokers and have thrown in an incentive: Watch the final of Treasure Island and you could win a trip for two to Tokyo for the premiere of the new Pirates of the Caribbean film. Another few nips of brandy and Miss Prozac will be ready.

Treasure Island Tantrums & Backstabbing
Tonight two people will be sent home leaving four places in next week’s final. If there was any more suspense Miss Prozac would have to lie down and take a nap!
Soft Wendell still wants off the island. What is wrong with that guy? Miss Prozac discreetly offers him her pills…
The first challenge is to memorise a route and then repeat it blindfolded through a minefield. Each mine struck adds 30 seconds to the time.
Hayley Holt drew the longest straw and went first. Honest Ozzie (Glen Osbourne) is disappointed at the backstabbing and doesn’t have a lot of time for Hayley when she wouldn’t help him through the maze.
Ozzie guides April Ieremia through the challenge when it comes to her turn giving her an advantage. April in turn helps Wendell Sailor who ends up with the fastest time. Competitive Hayley couldn’t understand why the others were helping each other through the challenge. It’s a game, she says, and there’s only one winner. Sounds like she should stick to dancing. Hayley’s facial expressions were priceless. She was angry and bewildered that the others helped each other in an individual game.
Finally she decides to help Doug Thompson through the challenge, but Doug wasn’t impressed with her dodgy instructions. Hmmm hope she’s not in charge of piloting the plane home.
After the competition host Matthew Ridge announces that it is no longer an individual competition – everyone is to pair up. Somehow I don’t think Hayley will be in demand.
Sad sack Wendell is hacked off as he wanted to lose the game and get off the island. Now he has to pair up with someone to get through to the next round. He knows they’re ultra competitive and he’ll have to put in a big effort. Ironically Wendell won the challenge and threw a temper tantrum because he didn’t want to choose anyone. He wants to go home, and he’s stamping his size 13 feet. In the end he chose Hayley who doesn’t rate him for intelligence, fitness or drive to win. Glen Ozzie Osbourne chose Monty Betham as his partner leaving Doug and April to pair off.
Each pair gets to choose a camp. As the winner, Wendell gets first choice and gets the only camp with a fire. April Ieremia tries to put a happy face on it but she’s concerned that the other teams are all athletes and that her and Doug won’t have a chance.
The next challenge is to go out to a pontoon and collect coconuts and bring them back to shore. The coconuts have to be cracked and emptied into a bucket. First to fill the bucket with coconut juice and scull it wins mercy (immunity) and the first place in the finals.
Ozzie and Monty were first to the pontoon. Monty played a strategic game and held up the rest of the players while Ozzie fills up on coconuts. Most team members struggled with breaking the coconuts, but Doug Thompson had the technique down pat and also knew that the smaller green coconuts have the most juice. Doug and April soon moved to a handy lead but the others started catching up. Wendell Sailor tried to hold April up with her return coconuts so Doug went out to help her bring in the coconuts. He cracked them and they were in the lead. Next they had to drink the juice but Doug spat some out, so host Matthew made them put more juice in. April sculled most of it and left to Doug to finish it.
First into the final are April and Doug.
In the next game there are 13 barrels with either a letter or a food prize. You have to swing from ropes from a tree to see the letters. When you have all 9 letters you unscramble them to work out where to go to next. You also have to remember the food prizes. First to pick up those food prizes and return with them wins a place in the final and a chance at $50,000.
The letters: O, W, S, C, S, N, R, E, T
The food: chocolate biscuits, eggs, melon, and bananas.
No one can solve it but Wendell Sailor reckoned it was at the top of the hill. Hayley Holt wasn’t prepared to risk it. She finally worked out that it was Crow’s Nest and got there first to claim the food and a place in the final. Surprisingly Wendell is excited about being in the final. He has more mood swings than Miss Prozac without her lithium.
The final four are April Ieremia, Doug Thompson, Wendell Sailor and Hayley Holt and they each have a chance at the $50,000 prize.

Only 40% want to see Nicky Watson pose nude
Dancing with the Stars Season 1 washout, Nicky Watson, is considering posing nude for Playboy. Darling, we've already seen your nipples being pierced what more have you got to show?
30 year old Nicky Watson is most famous for her publicity stunts and the men she hangs out with. She married high profile businessman Eric Watson, before shacking up with Treasure Island host Matthew Ridge and Blindspott muso Shelton Woolright. She's also had a fling with old schoolmate Brendan Cole, a judge on Dancing with the Stars and is rumoured to be spending time with him in between photo shoots for a new calendar, which presumably features her enhanced D cup assets.
Of nudity in Playboy magazine she had this to say:
Playboy was a "fun and sexy and vibrant" magazine, and told critics of its nude content not to take life so seriously."I've grown up with Playboy, I've admired it since I was a young girl."
Jeeze, what sort of reading material is that for a young gal? I have some questions for her parents...
According to a stuff.co.nz internet poll, 60% of people would prefer her to keep her clothes on - guess those were the women, seeing as most men like to look at naked gals. What do you think? Frankly I couldn't care less what she does but it seems she still has some appeal.
Meanwhile if you want to learn more about Nicky you can check out her myspage page complete with bikini and near nude shots. [Miss Prozac ducks before she gets trampled in all the rush of young men salivating and drooling at the thought of nude shots of Nicky Watson]. Her username is nickywatson69 - ummm Miss Prozac doesn't think that's her age or year of birth so perhaps someone could educate a poor old maid as to what the 69 might mean?According to her myspace page she would like to meet "Real, non judgemental, free spirited, soulful people from all over the world!" There are also links to Hayley Marie's myspage page (her mate from the 20/20 nipple piercing doco) with an ample supply of skinflicks for those who are interested.

Hayley is Hell on Treasure Island Opposition
After last week’s elimination of Rebecca Loos and Aja Rock, April Ieremia and Hayley Holt are the only two women left on the island among five guys. April thinks the two girls need to stick together to fight the testosterone. Hayley says they have more nouse than the guys.
In the opening scenes Wendell Sailor is packing a sad. He’s sick of sand up his crack and feeling lonely! Captain Monty is supporting him but it’s evident he’s wondering if Wendell is wimping out.
Host Matthew Ridge announces that the teams need to expect the unexpected. It’s now every man for himself with the teams being merged into one group. For each game the individual who wins gets mercy (immunity) and the loser goes into the red flag elimination round.
But first ‘Confession Time’
Each individual has to nominate who they would most like to see leave the island…
- Monty Betham – wants Wendell to go home because everyone else wants to win and is committed to being there and Wendell isn’t.
- Hayley Holt – picks Monty because he’s a strong all-round competitor with the drive to win the competition
- Glen Osbourne – Wendell because he could win if he put his mind to it
- Nick Curnow – Monty because he is one of the biggest threats in the game
Final vote: Monty 4, Wendell 2, Nick 1
This means Monty goes into the final red flag challenge together with two others.
In the first challenge the winner becomes captain and wins freedom from elimination. On top of that they get to nominate someone to go into the red flag challenge.
The game involves swimming out to a pontoon where they have to dive down to Davy Jones’s locker. There is a ladder suspended under the pontoon with six words, which are an anagram for a three word phrase that will tell them where to go to complete the challenge. The six words on the ladder are tact, slot, vary, keen, raged, and paul. Each pair of words is an anagram for another. For example paul + tact = catapult.
Hayley Holt is first out of the water and immediately solves two of the clues but she can’t put together the last two words (slot and keen) to form the correct word (skeleton). April puts together catapult, graveyard and skeleton and is first to the right spot. She loads the catapult missing the skeleton on her first two shots.
By this stage Doug Thompson has caught up and gets to aim the slingshot at the skeleton. He misses his first shot giving April another chance. This time she hits the target winning the challenge. She is now captain of the merged team and wins immunity from elimination. Doug hits the skeleton on his second try.
Glen Osbourne cracks it next. Nick, Hayley and Wendell are stumped. Monty sits the game out as he is already slated to play in the elimination round. Hayley finally solves the puzzle and hits the skeleton. Wendell also solves it but fails to hit the skeleton on his first two shots. He hits the skeleton on his third try just as Nick arrives.
April is now captain and can not be eliminated while she holds captaincy. Nick Curnow automatically goes through to the red flag elimination challenge.
In the next game there is a board with 20 coded words. Contestants have to work out which word each of the letter code denotes. Each person has 3 pots in front of them. When all the pots are broken you are out of the game. For each word correctly solved each participant is permitted to destroy another person’s pot.
Wendell said he’s not destined to think too much. Hayley solves the first two words and decides to forgo girl power smashing two of April’s pots. She gets the third word and smashes April’s final pot putting her out of the game and at risk of elimination if she loses her captaincy.
Hayley powers through the words eliminating Doug, Wendell and Glen. The guys don’t solve a single word! Hayley wins and is free from elimination. April lost but she has mercy so can not be eliminated unless she loses the leadership vote tomorrow.
April is desperately trying to rally votes to keep her captaincy. Glen Ozzy Osbourne won’t form an allegiance and won’t commit to voting for April, nor will Monty or Wendell. Nick Curnow is putting his name forward for captaincy in the hope of saving himself from the red flag elimination round. Doug will support him, bu Hayley isn’t sure if she wants to support the other gal on the island (what, NOW she’s thinking about girl power?) or Nick.
Who will win the vote for captaincy?
- April nominates herself for captaincy.
- Surprisingly, Wendell also supports April.
- Nick nominates himself and gets Doug’s vote.
- Glen supposes that April is okay and votes for her.
- Hayley decides friendship is more important and votes for Nick.
- Monty has the casting vote and says he will vote for April because she supported him at the last vote. He didn’t sound too sure of himself but April doesn’t care. She’s relieved to hold the leadership reins at a crucial time in the game.
The challenge involves jousting on a pontoon on the water. The first to push someone off twice is safe. Then the last two tussle it out. Monty and Wendell corner Nick and keep pushing him into the water. Wendell is first to win mercy leaving Monty and Nick to battle it out. Monty proves strongest but Nick puts up a good fight before being eliminated.

Nicky Watson latest Playboy
Fame hungry Nicky Watson, who appeared in the first season of Dancing With The Stars has been hired as the face of Playboy New Zealand, who have opened a fashion store in Auckland. Famous for being seen with a succession of high profile men including Matthew Ridge, Eric Watson and dancing lothario Brendan Cole, Nicky is now returning to her former modelling career.
Nicky is one of those people we love to hate. When she appeared on DWTS she was first to be eliminated, yet her interview on TV2's 20-20 show, complete with nipple piercing, was the most watched show of the year. Go figure.
You can watch David Farrier's full interview with the face of Playboy New Zealand, Nicky Watson on TV3's website.
